Provenance
[First copy:] Presented in 1963 by Dorothea Short from the library of her father Sir Frank Short, RA.
[Second copy:] A preliminary leaf is inscribed in ink, 'Library of the Royal Academy presented by the Author'. According to the RA Annual Report for 1860 (p. 33) this copy was received sometime between July 1859 and the 'close of 1860.'
