Select Views In Islington, Pentonville, Highbury, Canonbury, Etc., On Thirty-One Copper-Plates. From Original Drawings Taken On The Spot By Augustus Welby Pugin, Architect.
London: [Published for the Proprietor by R. Ackermann, 101, Strand], 1810 [1819]
Physical Description
[2] p., 31 leaves of plates; 290 mm.
General Note
This work is possibly an early version of a work, 'A series of views in Islington and Pentonville, from original drawings, made in the year 1818, by Augustus Pugin, with a description of each subject by Edward Wedlake Brayley', which was published in 1819. The title-page in this volume incorrectly names the artist Augustus Welby Pugin, with 'Welby' crossed out in pencil and 'The Elder' [i.e. Augustus Charles Pugin] written in pencil by the name. The date 1810 is also incorrect as all the plate publication lines read 'Published [or Pub, Pubd] May 1, 1819, for the Proprietor by R. Ackermann, 101, Strand.' There is no text, merely the List of Plates.
Binding Note
The spine is lettered in gold, 'Views in Islington etc. Pugin' and 'R.A.'
