Provenance
The apparent previous ownership of this copy by the artist William Hoare RA suggests it may have been part of the Prince Hoare bequest of books and prints received by the Royal Academy in 1835. However, it is not recorded in either the 1841 or 1864 printed catalogues of the Library.
Copy Note
The title-plate is inscribed on its verso in an unidentified hand, 'Wm. Hoare'.
Binding Note
18th-century calf, gilt borders on upper and lower covers; rebacked in 2000, brown morocco spine-label lettered 'Picturæ Raphaelis Sanctij In Palatij Vaticani' [sic] and 'R.A. 1722'.
