$a The frontispiece is a view of the Indian Court, Paris Exhibition, 1878 (architect Sir Caspar Purdon Clarke). Found folded in the back of the catalogue is a cutting from the Sunday Times printing a letter from the Rt. Hon. the Earl of Antrim discussing a proposed exhibition, 'Exhibition of Greater India', at the Royal Academy planned to be held early in 1940. The letter has a headline of 'The Indian Art Exhibition. Criticism of the Royal Academy Scheme'. There is no date on the cutting but is probably somtime in 1938 or 1939. |
