General Note

The frontispiece is a view of the Indian Court, Paris Exhibition, 1878 (architect Sir Caspar Purdon Clarke).

Found folded in the back of the catalogue is a cutting from the Sunday Times printing a letter from the Rt. Hon. the Earl of Antrim discussing a proposed exhibition, 'Exhibition of Greater India', at the Royal Academy planned to be held early in 1940. The letter has a headline of 'The Indian Art Exhibition. Criticism of the Royal Academy Scheme'. There is no date on the cutting but is probably somtime in 1938 or 1939.

Inscribed in ink at the top of the front flyleaf, 'With Mr [...]hams / Compliments'.
