The frontispiece portrait in volume 1 is titled `IOANNES MILTON AEtatis XXI' and bears the statements below the image `Front: Vol: 1.' and `G. Vertue Sculp. 1747.' The frontispiece portrait in volume 2 is titled `IOANNES MILTON AEtatis LXII. 1670' and bears the statements below the image `Front: Vol: 2.' and `G. Vertue Sculp. 1747.' All other engravings signed as invented and drawn by F. Hayman and engraved by C. Grignion and S. F. Ravenet.
