Each leaf lists paintings at Panshanger, Hertfordshire, with figures demonstrating the hang, but not showing the paintings themselves.

The pictures had been bought by the third Earl Cowper in Florence and shipped to Britain in 1790 after the earl's death. Many are now at Firle Place, east Sussex.
