There are marginal letterings in ink throughout, in an unknown hand. The rear endpaper carries an eleven-line note in ink, in an unknown hand, 'The Medalls marked in his Book in written Numbers, are so marked to show the proportionate Quantity of Gold to Silver ones. The Greek Letters are numerall, & signify how many Testons or eighteen pence each Medall is worth; for instance A signifies eighteen pence, B three shillings, I fifteen shillings. These prices were settled by the Author, & Sigre. Bianchi, Antiquary to the Great Duke of Tuscany. The Asterisks (*) mark such as have been counterfeited by Alexander Bassian & John Cauvin of Padua taken out of Le Cabinet de la Bibliotheque de Ste. Genevieve a Paris. All therefore of that sort ought to be carefully examined before bought.'
