Summary Note

Some copies have bound in the paper cover of this cuaderno, of which the title reads, 'Monumentos Arquitectónicos De España. Publicados de Rl. Orden y por disposicion del Ministerio de Fomento. Cuaderno No.'

The titles are in Spanish only; but the text is in Spanish and French in parallel.

The work describes the Lonja de la Seda, built in Valencia in the Gothic style between 1482 and 1498 by the architect Pere Compte, to serve as a silk exchange and to house the city's other commercial activities. The building is a five-bay aisled hall, with eight twisted columns, elaborate vault rib mouldings and a frieze incorporating a Latin inscription.

The plates are captioned and show: [1] Casa Lonja (Fachada principal, Planta, Seccion); [2, 3] (Detalles De La) Casa Lonja.

The decorated initial on p.1 is printed in full color.
