$a The author was married to the antiquarian Charles Alfred Stothard from 1818 to his death in 1821. She first published a memoir of him in the Gentleman's Magazine (1821 June); and later she and her brother would bring to completion the publication of Stothard's Monumental Effigies of Great Britain (1832). In 1822 Mrs. Stothard married the Revd. Edward A. Bray. She later published an account of C.A. Stothard's father, her Life Of Thomas Stothard, R.A. (1851); and in 1884 her Autobiography of A.E. Bray was edited by J.A. Kempe. The frontispiece shows a portrait of C. A. Stothard. The plate facing p.419 shows a portrait of 'De Coster, Guide to Bonaparte at Waterloo'. |
