$a Vogüé had worked with W.H. Waddington the epigrapher and E.C.M.L. Duthoit the architect from 1861, first in Cyprus and afterwards in Syria and the Holy Land. Here he describes the Temple Mount at Jerusalem, including the first and second Temples, the Temple of Herod, later Roman developments and the site after the Arab conquest and under the Templars.
