The work describes the Collegio del Cambio, or headquarters of the guild of bankers, in Perugia, built in the 15th century, and in particular its Sala dell' Udienza, which was frescoed by Perugino between 1496 and 1500. The fresoes show figures of Fortitude, Justice, Temperance and Wisdom, and the Adoration and Transfiguration of Christ.
The work is not illustrated. A title-page vignette shows an allegorical female figure with implements of art.
