This portfolio contains two texts by Prof. Dr Julius Lessing of 3 pages each, the first dated Berlin September 1881 and the second July 1882. At the end of the first is a note that the plates would appear in 4 parts of 12 plates each. These texts are followed by a two-page list of the plates.
Binding Note
The front paper-covered board is printed in black and red inks with the title-page. The wine-coloured cloth spine is lettering in gold, 'Lessing Holzschnitzereien'.
