This book discusses the sculptural work of three Renaissance sculptor-architects and is accompanied by plates of the work. The title-page does not bear a date, but the preface by Semper is dated 10 August 1880. The text printers are noted on p. 24: Barth & Co., Dresden, Landhausstrasse 1. The printers of the plates, as noted in the captioning of each plate, were A. Naumann'sche Lichtdruckerei in Leipzig.
Binding Note
The binding is in red quarter-bound leather with spine lettering in gilt, 'Bildhauer Architekten Der Renaissance', 'Fiesole. Sansovino. Da Rovezzano', 'R. A.' and 'Dresden 1880'.
