`Hero & Leander has been translated from the Greek of Musaeus by F. L. Lucas, Fellow of King’s College, Cambridge and University Reader in English. The Engravings are by John Buckland-Wright. Designed, produced, and published by Christopher Sandford, in 1949, the Edition is limited to 500 numbered copies. Nos. 1-100 have one extra engraving and are specially bound'. [colophon].
The front pastedown carries the brown and cream label of the bookseller: `F. W. Cheshire Pty Ltd., 338 Little Collins St., Melbourne'.
