General Note
This portfolio comprises 100 plates of drawings of Greek and Roman architecture by the members of the Académie de France in Rome. The plates are preceded by a preface by H. d'Espouy and the Table Explicative des Planches [list and description of the plates] prepared by Georges Daumet.
A later, second volume, appeared in 1905 published by the same publisher and containing 103 leaves of plates.
Found within the portfolio with the loose plates is an unrelated albumen print with printed title below the image, '10514. GENOVA - Palazzo Marcello Durazzo; architetto Bartolommeo Bianco. (Edizioni Brogi)

Inscription on the bottom of the Royal Academy bookplate on the front pastedown, 'Presented by Mr. E. Vincent Harris, O.B.E. R.A.; 1949'.
Binding Note
The portfolio is covered in a red cloth with the front board lettered 'Fragments D'Architecture Antique - Volume I' and the spine lettered 'Fragments D'Architecture Antique - I'.
