This work was published by the artist in 7 parts between 1738 and 1755. It illustrates various animals. The volume catalogued here comprises only the first 5 parts, published between 1738 and 1740. Each part includes a printed title-page followed by the plates for that part and completed by a two-page description of the plates in that part. Parts 1-3 were published in 1738; parts 4-5 in 1740.

Part 1 includes 18 plates illustrating various dogs; Part 2 includes 20 plates illustrating lions, tigers and oxen; Part 3 includes 18 plates illustrating bears and deer; Part 4 includes 16 plates illustrating boar, deer, lynx, wolves and mountain goats; and Part 5 includes 18 plates illustrating a variety of small animals including foxes, hares, badgers, wild cats, otters, beaver, martens, squirrels, weasel and a porcupine.
