Summary Note

The Musée de Marine was established in the Louvre in 1827. Since ca. 1939 it has been housed at the Palais de Chaillot, and is today known as the Musée National de la Marine. F.E. Paris was its director from 1871 to 1893.

A note printed on the half-title verso states that 300 copies were printed, of which this is no. 145.

Binding Note

19th-century half green morocco, marbled-papered boards; spine lettered 'Paris - Musée De Marine Du Louvre' and 'R.A.' Within the binding is preserved the original paper wrapper, on the upper part of which is printed the same text as on the title page.
