A translation and discussion by Sebastiano Ciampi of text by Pausanias describing the votive chest of Cypselus (Kypselos), a chest of cedar wood decorated with figures in ivory, gold, and wood, exhibited at Olympia in the temple of Hera (p. 1-35). The work also includes a dissertation, 'On the Chest of Cypselus, ancient moument in Olympia with figures in relief described by Pausanias', by Christian Gottlob Heyne (translated into Italian by Girolamo Lucchesini) (p. 37-92).
Errata are found at the end of the text on p. 92; the following unnumbered page of text is to be added between pp. 19 and 20.
