A pamphlet accompanying Haydon's exhibition of his two paintings at the Egyptian Hall, Piccadilly, London, in April-May 1846. On the verso of the title-page is theprinter statement, 'London : Printed by Wilson and Ogilvy, 57, Skinner Street, Snowhill.'
Provenance
Inscribed in ink 'J H Smith Jnr / London' at the top of the title-page and, at the top of p. 3 [first page of text], 'J. H. Smith / Caradoc Lodge - / Church Stretton.' With his manuscript underscoring and marginally throughout.
Bequeathed by Gilbert Bakewell Stretton, 1949.
Loosely inserted in the pamphlet is a sheet of paper inscribed in ink (possibly by G. B. Stretton):
