Denkmäler der Malerie des Altertums / herausgebeben von Paul Herrmann I. Serie.

This library holds 12 parts [Lieferungen] of the first series [Serie] of Herrmann's 'Monuments of Painting of Antiquity' [Denkmäler der Malerie des Altertums] issued between 1906 and 1913. Herrmann continued issuing this work until his death in 1935 when it was continued by Reinhard Herbig.

Each part was issued in blue paper covers with title and publication details on the front cover and the list of contents of that part on the back cover. Inside the back cover was pasted a large envelope which contains the printed text pages: a Foreword appeared in Part 1 and, in all parts, the text comprises essays and descriptions and discussions of the plate illustrations in that part. The parts held in this library, all from Series I:
