Responsibility Note

The frontispiece is signed as drawn by Cleofe Silvestri and engraved by Carlo Cattaneo. The three folding plates are unsigned.
The dedication by Melchior Missirini to Giovanbatista Canova (the half-brother of Canova, also known as Bishop Giovanni Battista Sartori) is reprinted from the first edition.

The work was first published in 1824. Here it is printed as part of a series, the half-title reading 'Biblioteca Scelta Di Opere Italiane Antiche E Moderne vol. 170 Antonio Canova'.
In this edition the biography is preceded by a frontispiece portrait of Canova, and followed by three folding plates showing nine medals struck in Canova's honour.
