$a Windsor Castle was developed between the 11th and the 15th century. Some further modifications were made in the 17th century, and extensive works were carried out in the late eighteenth and early 19th centuries by James Wyatt and Jeffry Wyatville (1824-40). Michael Gandy was for many years an assistant to Sir Jeffry. The frontispiece shows a portrait of Benjamin Baud. Sixteen lithographed plates show views of Windsor Castle; the rest show plans, elevations and architectural details of the castle. |
