According to the record for `No. I’ in the National Art Library, the author of the work is Anthony Pasquin [pseud. of John Williams (1754 - 1818)].
This publication appears to be a companion to, or continuation of: `A companion to the exhibition of the Royal Academy, with a list of the principal portraits, M.DCC.XCVI.' `No. 1' (at head of title page), 2nd edition, (ESTC 479215), the only copy of which listed on ESTC and WorldCat is held at the National Art Library, Victoria & Albert Museum. (No copies of the 1st edition of this publication are listed). The publication held in the Royal Academy of Arts Library has the shorter title, `A companion to the exhibition of the Royal Academy, M.DCC.XCVI,' and `No. II' at the head of the title page. The only copy of this publication listed on ESTC and WorldCat is the one held in the RA Library.
