`Pertinent and Impertinent
Note 1. Title “Stock-taking” might have been a more accurate title as the following matters were collected from racks and gallies in the printing office at that annual event. The original idea had been to set up the Pertinent verses in italic for a London publisher with the author’s illustrations reproduced on zinc blocks. But this did not pass the second reading. Some survivors will be recognized.
Note. 2. Authorship. Except where otherwise stated the author of Nisi Dominus is responsible for the Rhymes and notes.
Note. 3. Edition of two hundred copies, price 10s. 6d., of which this is No. 32.’ --unnumbered page 5.
Errors in pagination: pages 58-59 misnumbered 50-51; pages 62-63 misnumbered 54-55; pages 66-67 misnumbered 58-59. All subsequently corrected in pen.
