Content Description

It appears that a letter about their ball from Lavinia has miscarried. Provides a detailed description of a party held for about 80 people. Guests included Mrs. Campbell, Lady Nevil, Parson Burt, General Lister, Justice Vailant and Mr. King. Also mentions the Franks, Joe Maddox, Miss Holden and Moser, the Misses Ghostling and Mrs. Jeffreys.

Does his best to recommend Don Quixote, though he clearly struggled to enjoy it, "the wit of Cervantes, dies in the pen of the translator". They leave Whitton tomorrow. He wishes that she and George visit Rippon on their way.
