Vane Stewart, Vienna, to [Thomas Lawrence]
Date

Extent & medium

Content Description
He apologises for not writing, and assumed
Clanwilliam updated him on Viennese affairs; what Clanwilliam will not have told him is the story of the romance involving Selina [his sister] and two suitors, Lord Gower and Count [?Clamm]; [the following comes from the second folio] he complains of life in Vienna; "Kangaroo Cooke" is with him and is highly entertaining; the festival was dull due to Schultz's severe attack; he is bored and chaste and spends a great deal of time with his horses; he finishes by repeating some verses left on
Talleyrand's house.
Associated Material
The second part of this letter appears to belong to LAW/3/255. This is made more likely by Van Stewart's reference to his injured arm.
