Catalogue of the pictures owned by
Lord Lyndhurst, including many by his father,
John Singleton Copley. Anderdon notes that the RA diplomas had been withdrawn from sale. Also that two houses in George Street were sold for £18,000.
It appears that the section of catalogue preserved contains all the pictures by Copley available at the sale. Anderdon has noted the hammer price for all the works, but not the purchasers. However, special notice is taken of lot #90,
The Death of Major Peirson, sold to
Sir Charles Lock Eastlake for the National Gallery.
