Content Description
She answers on behalf of her daughter Sophia.
When she first began instructing her daughters she provided all that she thought essential, and they did very well. She thought drawing should not be thought of unless some strong talent was evident, and it was not. But Mr. Palmer was much taken with the landscapes of a Mr Serres, then at Bath. [Serres] attended them for eight months, but they asked to stop when returned to London. Sophia has however persevered in attempting heads.
She has run to great length, but "you will allow for the mother". She would be grateful of his occasional hints, but allows for a great gentleman whose health requires relaxation.
