Sending Jupp the following sketch: a study of his painting 'Manasseh Ben Israel before Oliver Cromwell'. Hart says that his sketches are normally made in pen and ink, and then in oil, before he begins his pictures. He was sorry that Jupp had been prevented by bereavement from being with the party at Greenwich.
