Historical Background
This committee was appointed almost on a whim by the Council in January 1974, to investigate how to improve the display advertising of Royal Academy exhibitions. Ultimately it settled as a standing committee, continuing to work until 1983. Unusually members of staff acted as full members of this committee, though only Academicians are listed in the annual reports.
