father's career and Nollekens early career and Italian soujourn; on the reverse two post-mortem cuttings provide further biographical details, including a letter from Nollekens to
Thomas Banks, written in 1770 from Rome, and an anecdote whereby Nollekens receives his first ever commission, from
David Garrick.
