A committee formed at the suggestion of Prof. Carel Weight by Council on 21st May 1968 to, "Thrash out what the function of the Royal Academy in the future should be". The committee was to act with the President as Chair. Other members were Weight, John Ward, Frederick Gore and Maurice de Sausmarez.
This committee became an important forum for the discussion of proposals which came to fruition in the 1970s, as the Academy strived to save itself both finanicially and culturally. Council deciding to return it to an ad hoc basis in January 1975, at which point it's duties were largely taken on by a Ways & Means committee.
