Fifteen sets of papers consisting of correspondence and completed application forms from individual artists in reduced circumstances, relating to the tenure of a cottage at Hereson, Ramsgate, Kent, at the disposal of the RA, which had been donated by Mr Sebag Montefiore: Henry FitzCook (painter); John Hayter (portrait painter); William Turner Davy (historical engraver); Reginald Easton (painter of miniatures on ivory); George Wells (figure and landscape painter); William Chevalier; J. Roberts; J. S. Westmacott; William Lawson; Henry J. Townsend; James Edgell Collins (portrait and figure painter); J. G. Duvall; John Outrim (historical line engraver); William Took (miniature, portrait and landscape painter); and William Spreat (landscape painter); with list of candidates and result of election, showing that William Took was elected after Reginald Easton declined.
