The proposal to limit submissions to the Academy is admirable, but he thinks the Academicians will frown upon it, particularly those who submit large numbers of works. He thinks they should be satisfied with the privilege of having three works on the line, as well as being accepted at any other exhibitions. Their fortunes are made as soon as they get the "coveted letters".
