When Humphry was to leave lucknow Sir John Urged him to stay, saying that if people at Lucknow would not have Humphry's pictures he would buy them. He has only been paid 5000 sicca rupees (about £500) and holds the Nabob's bond for 42,000 sicca rupees about £4500). He appeals for help, especcially from Macpherson himself.
