Content Description
Gilbert thanks Fry for the expressions of a friend, but feels that failure in anything he has set his mind upon is worse than death. Gilbert must now think about ways and means of supplying the needs of those dependent upon him. This simply means the renunciation of higher aims for those of a mere tradesman.
