Content Description
Violet Munnings had written telling of "horrid details", and as she knew Knight had gone through the whole tragedy [of
Florence Munnings's suicide in 1914], she wanted her to clear
A. J. Munnings of any blame. Knight had met with gossip on the subject in the district at the time. Knight was possibly the only person who knew the actual reason for the suicide, which did not concern her husband in any way. Through no fault of her own she [Florence Munnings] became involved in a possible scandal. There was no indication that she was contemplating suicide. Knight hesitated to write details which she might give to Pound in person.
