He came down to get fresh air and paint landscapes and has been caught in the gales. But he pleased with his hotel and has found,. for the first time since the war, good and abundant food in England. He hopes to be lucky in the RA again this year, he describes his submissions. Hastings doesn't equal Todd's Cornish harbour, but has good light effects on stormy days.
