Content Description
Wright had sent off two cases to Sotheby: one containing his two pictures of an iron forge and a captive king; the other two pictures by Miss Turner of Liverpool. He instructs Sotheby to tell the Committee that his entry in the catalogue should state his address as Mr Hurlston's, peruke maker in Cary Street: on no account whatsoever should this be omitted, as "it will be directions to the publick where I am to be found when in Town". The letter concludes with further instructions about the despatch of his works for exhibition.
