Content Description

She explains that a couple of weeks before A[lfred] G[ilbert] was very concerned that McAllister continue to ave her £2 a week. However, on a recent visit he was in a very unpleasant mood, saying that George was unpaid, which was "very hard". She has told Lady Helena Gleichen, Princess Louise and Sigismund Goetze and something has been organised through the Royal Academy and the A.G.B.I. to guarantee Alfred Gilbert for life.

She recounts what has happened surrounding a case of jewellery designed by Gilbert, which Goetze had offered £100 for (for the V&A), but which Gilbert would not part with. They know that Mrs. Terrell has her eyes on it, and that she wants McAllister's salary stopped. She asks that he write to Mr. Kieth on the matter.
