Content Description
Brooke sends his "abject apologies" in response to a letter from Middleton Todd, in which he had complained [about errors in the marking of his works for sale in the summer exhibition.] Brooke explains and defends the normal series of checks made on works for sale, but is unable to offer an explanation as to why things had gone wrong. He states that, occasionally, they find red spots on the floor, and it is possible that "helpful" visitors put them back in the wrong place sometimes. He concludes by repeating his apologies.
