Content Description
The Secretary informs Leighton that the Council has given serious consideration to his request (contained in a letter to the President and Council of 3 July 1877) to send the Chantrey work 'Athlete strangling a Python' to the Paris exhibition of 1878. After obtaining a legal opinion on the matter, the Council are compelled to refuse the request.
