He is sorry to hear that the S.P.C.K. are causing her trouble. He thinks Mr. McClure is a devil, he hates to deal with "Scotchmen".

He went to the Tadema's to return the onyx ring. Alma-Tadema's Colosseum is the most extraordinary thing he has ever seen, it is amazing to see a 70 year old working with such vigour. Tooth, the dealer, has bought it to exhibit all over the world.
