Content Description
Bulwer Lytton was flattered by Gibson's reaction to his "diletante" observations on art. He would be honoured to sit to Gibson for his bust the following year. He agrees with Gibson that there was masculine character and dignity in a beard, but while a dark beard grizzled was fine, he fears that his own light beard grizzled was not ideal.
