Donald McMorran, a Finance Committee member, who called for the creation of a sub-committee of enquiry to clarify responsibility for finance, 13 July 1964 and further, 13 October 1964, and the resulting resignation of
Sir Basil Spence as Treasurer and Professor of Architecture, citing what he regarded as personal criticism by McMorran and a lack of support from other Council members, 27 October 1964; and discussion of the need to give the summer exhibition a new look, following the reading of a letter from
Carel Weight on behalf of twenty members, 17 November 1964.
