The volume is a reconstitution of the original annual accounts of the RA's first Treasurer,
Sir William Chambers, as examined by the RA's Auditors,
George Dance and
William Tyler. The book was complied as part of the Council's 1795 enquiry into Chambers's keeping of the RA's accounts up to that date. The original accounts had been signed by the members of the Council. The accounts consist of itemised receipts and disbursements. The last main entry reads "Paid Mr Rose for copying the Academy books", 4 July 1795. Toward the end of the volume there are accounts of the charity fund, 1789-95 and the solid fund, 1782-95.
The volume supplements the main book of accounts for the period, RAA/TRE/1/1.
