Content Description
On going to Magdalen College in Oxford she asked to see his ancestor's monument. Unfortunately the chapel was too gloomy for much to be visible by way of a likeness. She also thinks the lapse of time since
Lawrence Humphrey was doctor of divinity at the college has not helped. She was charmed by the altarpiece at the Chapel, by
Guido, and taken by the
Duke of Ormond at Vigo. Her friends are well and respected locally for the trouble they take to educate the local children. Mrs Thomas does not forget that she is in Humphry's debt.
