Content Description
Expressing his own satisfation, and that of the fellows of Eton College, at the portrait of him by Middleton Todd, and its copy. Elliott remarks that sitting to Middleton Todd had been a very enjoyable experience. The letter encloses the artist's draft reply expressing regret that he had missed Elliott at the private view, and stating that he thought that the portrait would look better away from the harsh light of the Academy galleries.
