Academy Framing

Frames

Academy Framing is the only framing department of a major institution to offer its services to professionals and the general public alike.

Our client list includes many galleries and dealers, several public institutions, and many Royal Academicians and other contemporary artists.

Academy Framing offers expert advice and bespoke framing. We will advise on the conservation and preservation of works of art, and our services include the restoration of works on paper and canvas.

We are also happy to undertake challenging and unusual commissions, such as the mounting and framing of works on fabric, works on vellum, items of clothing, flags, seals and ephemera.

We have a wide range of mouldings from which to choose, many of which are exclusive to Academy Framing. Many finishes are available: frames may be painted, stained, waxed or hand-laid with gold or silver leaf. And, because they are handmade in our workshops, the frames and finishes are interchangeable to suit your requirements. We also offer a selection of competitively priced factory-finished mouldings.

All of our work is carried out to conservation standards in order to ensure that our frames offer the best environment for the preservation of your work. We stock a comprehensive range of acid-free mount boards to which decorative wash treatments can be applied to enhance your work. We also supply UV filter and low-reflective glasses and Perspex.

We also offer for sale a selection of prints and original artworks, many by Royal Academicians.

For a free consultation or to see our frames, please visit our offices. We can be found at the rear of the Royal Academy, approached via Burlington Gardens.
